Demo CDs for Primitive will be going out to friends and family. If you want one and are missed, let us know.
I was in a band for years. It was amazing. Long story, but it ended. I absolutely love jamming with my friends, but I haven't had the time to commit to joining or starting another project writing original music.
Even though I haven't had time to commit, the idea has stayed with me. What should this band sound like? We all daydream right? The idea of the band I would like to be a part of has grown. The name came a while ago, and the other components have slowly been following. At this point I have no desire to try and monetize anything that's happening - it's all for fun. End game would be to write some good songs, get a good band to play them, and hopefully have some interested people come out to watch us when we start to play.
If you want to hear cutting edge, professional, inspired recording and musicianship this is not the place for you. The instrumental components are poor to middling at best, and the recording has been summed up as "that's some hi-fi 60's low tech sound right there", but I think you can hear the potential in the song writing. Ideally some day the band will form, and at that time the various players expert at their various instruments will add the flash and shine that is missing. Then hopefully record it and capture that lightning in a bottle!
Primitive is the demo album. It has been a wild thrill ride, and I hope you enjoy the four songs.
There is still a lot of work to be done with these, but there's also a lot of pride in how they turned out.
The first song is Fighting the Dragon, a moody tune about struggles. Second song is New Star, upbeat kind of rythym and about new beginnings. Third song is Hiwayman, meant to sound a little mystical. Fourth song is Ride Away, and the gist is in the title.
The coolest thing about music is how it can move people at the same time, but in different ways for different reasons. Like we are all together, but still individual.
What meaning if any do they hold for you?
